Although
Friday May 16
was postponed by
inclement
weather, the
event rebounded
on Saturday May
17 by exceeding
the biggest
single-day
attendance
numbers in
recorded
history! Despite
$4.00 per gallon
gasoline and a
lukewarm
national
economy, almost
40,000
spectators were
packed to
capacity at both
18th annual Cruisin'
Ocean City 2008 event
locations
on Saturday.
The
event reset all
existing one-day
traffic records
again for Cruisin'
Ocean City,
shattering
the Saturday
2007 record of
30,000.
The
traffic flow
meters on Ocean
City’s Coastal
Highway and
Baltimore Ave showed
their largest
automobile event
count ever
recorded,
with
event spectator
traffic lined up
from
the entry gates
past the
Intercoastal
Waterway Bridge
on State Highway
50.
